How Do Diet & Exercise Affect My Mood?

Message_Tile_5.jpg

Have you ever noticed that after a good workout or a healthy meal, you feel more energised and upbeat? Well, there's a reason for that!  Exercise and diet can have a big impact on your mood!

Let's start with exercise. When you work out, your body releases endorphins, which are chemicals that help to boost your mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Regular exercise has been shown to increase the production of chemicals in your brain called neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which are important for regulating mood and emotions.

On the other hand, a poor diet can leave you feeling sluggish and irritable. Foods that are high in sugar and unhealthy fats can cause your blood sugar levels to spike and then crash, leading to feelings of tiredness and irritability.  But a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein can help keep your blood sugar levels stable and provide your body with the nutrients it needs to function at its best.

In addition to the physical benefits of exercise and a healthy diet, there's also a psychological component. When you take care of your body by exercising and eating well you feel better about yourself and more confident in your abilities. This can help to boost your mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety!

So, if you're looking to improve your mood consider incorporating regular exercise and good food into your routine. Your body (and your mind!) will thank you.
